Watch the colors flow and change on their own! Experiment to create colorful patterns.

1. Fill the tubs with water. Add a few drops of food coloring to each one.
2. Fold your coffee filter in half several times.
3. If you want, cut out patterns on the edges. Be careful not to cut off the entire edge.
4. Dip each corner into a different color. The color will spread and run into the other colors. You may see that two colors mixed together make a new color.
5. Unfold the filter to dry.

• Instead of dipping the coffee filter, unfold the filter and paint it with watercolors.
• Cut the dried designs into flower shapes. Add green construction paper stems and leaves.
